Webinar Summary: While it is widely accepted that hypermobility is more common in the scoliosis population, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, an inherited hypermobility disorder, is still often overlooked and misunderstood by medical professionals. In this webinar, we will
review the basics relating to EDS/HSD, including the 13 different symptoms, the diagnostic criteria for hEDS, common signs and symptoms, common comorbidities, and when to refer out. We will discuss modifications to conservative treatment and management for patients present with both EDS/HSD and scoliosis, and review a case study demonstrating our approach to patient care for this patient population. By the end of this webinar, you should be able to better screen for EDS in your patients with scoliosis, and better understand how to modify your approach to respect both diagnoses.
