The Connection Between Spinal Alignment and Pelvic Floor Health with Katalin Kapoor, a physical therapist with over 20 years of orthopaedic experience, specializing in scoliosis, kyphosis, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Dual-certified in the original German Schroth Method (BSPTS, SEAS) and advanced pelvic rehabilitation (Herman & Wallace Institute), she integrates posture, breathing, and pelvic health to restore whole-body balance. Originally from Hungary, Katalin trained in the authentic Schroth tradition and focuses her practice on the interplay between spinal alignment, breathing mechanics, and pelvic floor function. She is passionate about helping patients with complex postural and pelvic issues regain stability, strength, and confidence. In her presentation, Katalin shares insights from a mini-study of 44 adult women, revealing that 84% of those with spinal deformities reported at least one pelvic floor symptom—far higher than the general population. Her work highlights how spinal curvature and breathing mechanics influence continence, core pressure regulation, and overall function, emphasizing evidence-based interventions that integrate the Schroth Method and pelvic rehabilitation for improved patient outcomes.
