Dr. Lonner is a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and attending Spine Surgeon at Mount Sinai Medical Center, NYC. He attended the prestigious, accelerated 6-year Medical Program at Boston University. He completed his general surgery internship at Mount Sinai Hospital and then his Orthopaedic Surgery training at Montefiore Medical Center and his Scoliosis and Spine Surgery training at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Lonner has been a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU School of Medicine from 2010 until his move to Beth Israel Hospital in 2013 and is now a full Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Lonner has been in practice for 30 years. He is one of the leading scoliosis surgeons in NYC and the surrounding region with an international reputation for his excellence in this area including pediatric and adult patient populations. He has been an innovator and leader in the area of minimally invasive thoracoscopic scoliosis surgery for which patients have travelled to see him from around the world.
