New 3D Classification for AIS Unveiled at SRS 2025

At the recent Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) Annual Meeting 2025 in Charlotte, NC, the Lenke–Aubin 3D Classification was introduced, marking a significant evolution in how Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) is assessed. By adding transverse plane modifiers to the traditional Lenke system, this new approach provides a more complete, three-dimensional understanding of spinal deformities. The enhanced classification aims to refine curve analysis, improve surgical planning, and enable more individualized correction strategies, potentially transforming the future of spinal deformity surgery and patient outcomes.
